Rick earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from South Dakota School of Mines & Technology and his Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. He founded SEM in 1992. When Rick is not following the markets, he enjoys long walks with his wife, Mary and riding his mountain bike in the foothills of Tucson, AZ.

Jeff Hybiak, CFA Chief Investment Officer / Chief Operating Officer

Jeff is a CFA Charterholder and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Finance & Accounting emphasis) from the University of Northern Colorado. He has worked in the field of accounting and finance since 1992 and joined Strategic Equity Management, Inc. in October 1998. Jeff relocated to Virginia to open SEM's east coast office in 2017. Outside of SEM, Jeff is part of the worship team at LifePointe Christian Church in Williamsburg, VA where he plays the keyboard and bass guitar. He also coaches soccer at New Kent High School.

Tim McCain Business Development and Consultant Director

Tim received his Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing with a minor in Finance, and his MBA from the University of Phoenix. He has been with SEM since 2006. Outside of work, Tim is an avid outdoorsman. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and hiking with his family and dogs.

Brandi Hybiak Advisor Services & Operations Manager

Brandi received her Associates Degree in Business Management and has over 30 years of back office and customer service experience. She has been with SEM since 2001. Outside of work, Brandi enjoys spending time with her husband and their beautiful family.

Cody Hybiak, ChFC Client Portfolio Manager

Cody received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Accounting emphasis) from the University of Arizona. In 2021, he became a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) from The American College of Financial Services. He has been with SEM since March 2017. Cody also helps with the teen program at the Bridge Christian Church in Tucson, AZ.

Courtney Dent Business Development Associate / Marketing Manager

Courtney received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Marketing emphasis) and a minor in Psychology from the University of Arizona. She joined SEM part-time in 2016 while still in college and transitioned to a full-time role in January 2020. Outside of work, Courtney serves in children's classes at her church, hosts a church small group with her husband, enjoys baking, and loves spending quality time with her husband and daughters.

Ed Dudley Financial Advisor

ED attended Northeastern University in Boston for a degree in Leadership. With over 20 years in financial services arena in various positions ED has a passion for serving people. He is also the founder of We Are Connect-ED, a business and professional networking collaboration with a mission to be a bridge to form strategic alliances, partnerships and collaboration for all. In his spare time ED is very active in the community and serves on several nonprofit boards such as Board Vice President of SwingPals, Interim Board Chair for United Against Slavery, board member of Helius Foundation, Co-Founder/Steering Committee member of 100 Men Who Give A Damn, and Co-founder of Shining Light in Darkness.

Greg Grimes Financial Advisor

Greg has been in the Finance and Insurance industries since 1993, working with SEM for nearly 20 years. A transplant from California where he built custom homes for a living, he now helps families and small businesses build financial homes with an emphasis on wealth management and long term care planning. In his free time does crisis ministry, smokes meats, and travels extensively with his wife Sara.

Shannon Chandler Executive Assistant / Investment Advisor Representative

Shannon received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Arizona. She joined SEM in 2002. When not in the office, Shannon spends as much time as possible in the forest near her home in New Mexico.

Dustin Briles Director of Technology

Dustin received his Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology (Security emphasis) from Western Governor's University. He started contract work for SEM in late 2017 and joined full-time in August 2018. Outside of work, Dustin likes studying apologetics, playing the guitar, learning Japanese, and enjoying all that comes with raising two children with his wife. He is also active in the OSSU Computer Science Discord community.

Amber Cooper Advisor Services Assistant

Amber received her Bachelor of Science degree in International Business from Liberty University. She joined SEM in March of 2022. Outside of work she enjoys singing at church, reading dystopian novels, and spending time with her husband and sons.

Rachel Phaup Internal Sales & Marketing Support

Rachel attended Barton College and ECSU. She has many years of experience in Medical Management as well as experience in Industrial Recruitment. She joined SEM in January 2023. Rachel enjoys spending time with her family and watching her two boys play soccer, basketball, and baseball.

George Moore IV Investment Operations Associate

George is a finance and investment operations professional with more than nine years of experience in portfolio management, reporting, and client service. He brings a data-driven approach to investment analysis, rebalancing, performance reporting, and operational improvement.

Before joining SEM, George supported wealth-management, institutional, endowment, and nonprofit portfolios through roles at WealthCrossing, VML/VACo Finance, Investure, Concord Asset Management, and Caprin Asset Management. He earned a B.S. in Business Administration with a Finance concentration from Longwood University and is actively involved in the Massey Alliance Young Professional Board for the VCU Comprehensive Cancer Center. Outside of work, George and his wife enjoy heading to baseball games at CarMax Park and exploring around Richmond, VA with friends and family.
